How to add pages

This wiki uses the same wiki platorm as the regular wikipedia, so regular contributors to wikipedia will be familiar with it. Although there is no handy "Create a page" button, the process is just as simple.

Method 1

Click on one of the red internal links on the main page or any other existing page, and you will be prompted to create the new page. The new page will automatically be linked to all internal pages that have linked the exact words used.

Method 2

Copy and paste the following wiki address into your web browser address bar, replacing '(page_name)' with the title of the page you want to create:

http://gg.inopinionated.net/index.php/(page_name)

For example, to create a page on trees, copy and paste http://gg.inopinionated.net/index.php/Tree and you will be directed to a page telling you there is no such page, and letting you create it. You will have to link it to an existing page (or rather, make an existing page link to it) to make sure your page gets any traffic.

Structure

Take a few minutes to think about your article before you start. Some pointers:

• Use singular for page titles – 'Tree' rather than 'Trees' (for multiple trees, use something like 'Types of tree').  
• Introduce your subject with a very short summary. 
• Divide the subject into just a few main sections (3 are ideal, 4 or more will create a contents box automatically). 
• This is a knowledge base, not an encyclopaedia, don't bother with in-line quotations (we can add them to controversial statements later). 
• Nonetheless, put a  == References ==  section at the very end, where you list all your sources. 
• Add a retrieval date to any web links you put in this section.
